Abigil Aba Ahadjie, Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Prophet Joseph Smith is someone that God selected to help His children on this earth return to Him. He was not an extraordinary person per se; he was like us. God selected him so that we can get all His scriptures, and when we are able to follow them, be able to return to Him.

When I read his scriptures and see the adversity he faced, I understand that we will all be faced with adversity. Through his firm faith in the scriptures he was able to face adversity. If we are also able to have a firm faith, we can be able to face and overcome adversity to enable us return to our Heavenly Father someday.

The Prophet Joseph Smith was someone who was humble. He never felt prideful; when God called him to do His work, he did it with bravery. He was not puffed-up and did not consider himself above others. He was able to do the work in humility until the end, and he is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father. In like manner, if we are humble in all we do here on earth it will make us successful, and the joy will be ours.

I want my brothers and sisters in Africa to know that Joseph Smith was someone that God purposely appointed and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a church for Joseph Smith, but God’s own Church; hence, if we devote our hearts to the scriptures that God gave him, we can all find happiness in our lives and be able to prepare ourselves to return to Him again.
