One of the principles revealed by the Prophet Joseph Smith was the priesthood. It was through him that this divine authority was restored to earth, together with the principles of its power and keys and the organization of the priesthood. I have learned from the teachings of the Prophet that receiving the priesthood and using it in God’s name is a privilege, to accomplish the work that He would do if He were here in person. It would benefit us, and particularly my people, to learn and to understand his teachings. When they understand the teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, their understanding of the great and eternal plan of our Father in Heaven will deepen, their faith will be greatly strengthened, and their individual and family life will be raised to a higher standard.
